Yellow Dust Woman
There is a minor admission of guilt for the murders of thousands of native children for the first time by the Canadian Parliament.
I wanted my Blackfoot mother, who adopted me and Felicia some 6 or 7 years ago, Yellow Dust Woman, to speak since she was a survivor. I hadn't talked to her in over a year and called, only to find out that a week ago, April 19, she passed away of a heart attack at their local bingo hall. She passed quickly, and the family seems to be doing well. The world is a better place for having had her wonderful awesomeness in this world. She had requested that people don't mourn too much and to live strong. What a wonderful human being.
I dedicated today's "Mitakuye Oyasin" radio program to her and played the song I want played at my funeral, "Visions of a Native American" by the late great Jim Pepper, for her in honor.
Today's show was also about the Amnesty International report (www.amnestyusa.org) about the high rates of rape of indigenous women. Fitting.

Eagle
On Sunday before we headed out to the BOO volunteer appreciation party, I heard Rhonda yell as I was grooming in the bathroom, "FELICIA SPOTTED AN EAGLE!" I came running out of the bathroom and the three of us went outside. Sure enough, there was a bald eagle circling in the sky a little west of us, then it moved slowly until it was flying above us.
A man walked up and asked what we were looking at. "A bald eagle" I told him. He looked up and asked, "are you sure it's not a buzzard?" "Buzzards fly different," I informed him. "I'm gonna go get my binoculars," he said, and disappeared. We watched the eagle for about 7 minutes before it finally headed northeast, probably toward government island.
What a beautiful way to start the week!

Lefty Racism is Still Racism
Having been doing the work that I do for so long [speaking out against the U.S. empire and wanting to bring it down], I have encountered many forms of racism.
I have encountered racism from right wing conservatives. I had gotten into the habit of verbally beating them down because I wanted to leave them with such a sting that they would at least THINK before they opened their mouths and said such a thing again.
Racism is a tool which one group uses against another in order to control or dominate that group for their own gain. Racism hurts because it is supposed to hurt. It is supposed to remind the group it is enacted against that they are powerless over those more powerful. For the last month, with my sweeties hand in mine, we took on racism in the lefty community.
I called a well known peace activist in the area on his sexism and racism. He told me the following:
"We are all a little sexist and racist, Eugene, even you." What this is means in my opinion is that he doesn't want to deal with his sexism and racism because it suits him in his position of authority just fine. It also excuses his behavior and therefore he doesn't have to put forth the effort to examine it.
I had told him that his racist behavior kept people of color from participating in the peace movement. His comment to this was, "if people of color would quit blaming their shortcomings on white males" then we could have the unity I hoped for. This man also happens to be a white male.
Racism and sexism ARE violence because they are designed to hurt. It is a tool for one group to gain control of and or dominate another group.
In this blog I have had to deal with racists. It started with folks using my race to drive home a point, and then telling me that isn't racist. In my pain and anger, which the comment was designed to hurt me (paraphrased: I support the troops coming home, not killing, having health care, therefore I have no right to say anything about what America did to my folks) I treated them with the same racism they put forth.
After battling these folks for a couple of weeks, I experienced racism at the one place I truly thought I was safe from it. What a fool. It, too, is a lefty organization.
Then Paul Watson comes to town with his heavily supported race hate and lies, so I started firing back especially when I was censored by Indy Media. I was not allowed to fight back or speak on behalf of my people because I wanted white racist lefty folks to hurt just as bad as I do when the enact their institutional or overt racism and still claim they have a higher standard than right wing republicans. Let's not forget the connections between Paul Watson and Slade Gorton, Jack Metcalf, and Willis Carto, well known republican earth and Indian hating folks.
I became mean, hurtful, and angry. I wanted whitey to hurt as bad as whitey makes my people hurt. I've heard racist justifications from white folks that the Makah genocide was fine because they were slavers. So were white folks, so I called for white folks to line up for their genocide. I called white folks Peckerwoods and Crackers and this has stimulated conversation. It was still mean of me. It was still hurtful. And it was an attempt to get white folks to understand how hurtful their racism is. White skin doesn't make you holy. Being vegan doesn't make you holy. Being Indian doesn't make me holy. Being alleged peaceful doesn't make you holy.
I want your people to stop hurting my people and to treat them with the respect we deserve. Jesus FUCK! It really isn't asking too much. I mean, shit, you took EVERYTHING from us. EVERYTHING, and then live with this belief that it was OK and justifiable for whatever reason you choose to make up at the moment.
Then I find out lefty tree sitters are raping their women in the encampments. WHAT THE FUCK! I held these folks to a higher standard. I believed. They lied. With the exception of the women, most if not ALL of the men in those groups turn out to love violence against women just as much as republicans, the taliban, etc. Women have to always be on the lookout against men because men are constantly enacting dominance and hatred over them. Left, Right, inbetween and all around.
This just has to stop, folks. We have to examine our behavior. We have to stop hurting each other. We have to stop trying to dominate the other for our own gain. Yes, even me.

Paul Watson Protest
Two days ago, Paul Watson, fat ugly leader of the Sea Shepherd Society, came to town. As posted previously in this blog, Paul is racist and when he comes to town the race hate of alleged lefties rises to the surface and they feel free to be the racists they really are. So, Rhonda and I decided to make signs and go protest the fact fuck speaking at the Pirate's Tavern about how great and glorious he is, and, you know, those whale things.
Prior, I had picked up Felicia and we went to KBOO. I told the receptionist, a friend of mine, that we were going to protest Paul Watson. She got upset. She mentioned that women on the crew of the Sea Shepherd Society often get raped. "Sexually harassed," one of the staff members said. "We know they get sexually harassed, we are not sure about the rape."
A few days before, Rhonda and I met with some new friends. One of them discussed how she had worked at tree sits on the raping by alleged forest defenders. It didn't really hit me at that moment because I had this stupid idealism that these folks were more true than say...a right wing republican. Then it all came rushing in. The rape of women on the left is rampant as I learned more of over the last couple of days. Boys in the tree sits felt entitled to rape their female counterparts. Rape IS VIOLENCE! And I realized right then that it is almost undoubtedly true that Paul is at least complicit in rape of his crew members and violence against women is absolutely WRONG! I seriously thought of taking a knife with me to the Paul Watson show. A few minutes later, I calmed down enough to realize that that would not be a good idea.
I took Felicia home and went to Rhonda and mines place. We made some signs: "Save the Whales and Honor Native Rights," "You were never at Wounded Knee in '73, Paul. Stop lying," and a few others. We got there and went in and talked with the woman who organized the event. You would think that such a prestigious college like Lewis and Clark would instill a little more critical thinking into a person, but it doesn't. Although very intelligent, she filters information, denies other parts of information, doesn't triangulate. Rhonda had made a print out of one of Paul Watson's racist comments and handed it out to a few folks. After getting a good feel of we would not be accepted, we went to the car to discuss further action. We ran into a couple there and they didn't know about what Paul had done to the Makah. So we had a discussion and they were very receptive. Then, a woman dressed in a pirates costume came running out screaming this was her property and if we didn't leave she was going to call the cops. This is a great man, she said, referring to Paul. "PLEASE!" I screamed back. Again, don't think critically. Don't take in as much information as you can. Be as stupid as possible, and believe believe believe.
So, we parked on the other side of St. Helens Road and took our signs and stood on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. One woman walked up and wanted to hear what we were about. I told her of my issues with Paul and the racism and such, and metioned that there are rumors that women are at the very least sexually harassed on his ships but also probably raped which I have no doubt to be true considering the behavior of alleged lefty boys at tree sits raping their sisters. She then told me she had been reading about the rapes at tree sits for years in "Earth First Journal." At which point is almost screamed, "Where the FUCK HAVE I BEEN!" I hadn't heard about the rapes until just a few days prior. We all have to do something about this.
A couple talked with Rhonda, and when finished, left because of the information Rhonda gave them. Another couple walked up and told her that what the U.S. does is far worse than what Paul does (acknowledging the fact that Paul does indeed do bad shit). We should go protest them. "We do," Rhonda informed him. Every tuesday from 5-6 in front of the recruiting center on Broadway. You should join us, she suggested. They just might they said and walked away. Yeah, sure they will.
A railroad consultant, a Comanche, came and talked with us. We talked for quite a while and he decided he wouldn't go there for a beer like he thought he would. Quite the guy, but that's another conversation.
Vegan Sid, an elderly woman, came up to proseltize (sp?) about veganism. You see, veganism makes you into some sort of super holy person. It gives you the empirical right to tell others what they can and cannot do via your superiority from simply being a vegan. Kind of like from the superiority of simply being white. Kind of like the superiority of simply being male.
EEEHHHHH! WRONG ANSWER! Although we didn't get anywhere with either of us, you do not simply have the right to tell others what to do because you are a vegan. Veganism doesn't make you superior or holy. Being a vegan just makes you a vegan. Being white doesn't make you superior. It makes you white and nothing more.
I certainly learned a lot from this experience. People, even on the left, have a sense of entitlement over some of the most stupid reasons. "I'm a vegan and therefore super holy and now have the right to tell others what to do." "I am white, and therefore holy, and have the right to tell darkies and others what to do." "I have a penis, and therfore holy, and have the right to rape women even in the left movement because I think of my sisters just like the right wing republicans do."
WRONG ANSWERS! ALL OF THEM! We are human beings. We damned well better start treating all our fellow human beings like human beings or we're not going to get anywhere. There are so many fucking people I'd like to slap around now. All the lefty folks seemed pretty nice at the event with Paul. Most that we talked with didn't know about his racist shit with the Makah and his lies about being at Wounded Knee in '73.
Just remember, folks, you are no more human than any other human. Treat your fellow humans with the Love and Respect you feel you deserve, and struggle against those that do not do so no matter what fucking side they are on or what kind of fucking heroes you may think them to be.

Fear
My sweetie and I are planning on attending the dinner honoring Paul Watson, head of the Sea Shepherd Society on Wednesday at 8pm at the Pirate's Tavern on St. Helens Rd. We are scared. Reading the race hate that the vegan fascists are spouting on Indy Media makes us nervous. The voices of dissent against Paul Watson are being censored by Portland Indy Media as well. One insider is trying to convince us it is their filters, I don't believe him however as our posts don't make it on their forum. I posted "Race By the Numbers" on their, a new title to an old post, and it has been sent to the compost heap along with the comment from someone who is learning to hate me since I speak out against this form of racism. Wow.
Rhonda and I will most likely be the only two anti-Paul Watson folks there. We are scared of the violence spewing from the mouths of the vegan holier than all fascists. I doubt we'll be killed, but I don't doubt they will try to physically hurt us. These folks are just FILLED with hatred towards the Makah and their supporters, thanks to the works of Watson and the Sea Shepherd Society, attempted murderer of Makah folks Josh Harper, Jonathan Paul and the Sea Defense Alliance, etc. We know the hate they're capable of. We know their desires to complete the genocide against the Makah. We know their self-righteous bigotry. We're scared, but somebody has to do something about this.
I'm losing friends. That hurts, but not as much as it hurts to see the genocidal desires of folks against the Makah and their supporters. Justifications for this hatred are handed down casually like candy to children, stirring the pot of hatred. The Makah owned slaves. The Makah are murderers of whales.
I've heard these justifications of genocide so many times in so many forms. "We're all immigrants." (Doesn't matter that the science is faulty). There were only a few million of us here. We weren't Christians and they were. We weren't white and they are. We practiced human sacrifice.
White folks have done so many horrific things in this world for the gain of the few. When I spoke out that whitey has practiced slavery and therefore should line up for their fair share of genocide, I upset a lot of people. Afterall, I was mentioning that whitey should get their come uppance for the horrific crimes enacted against my folks. I'm losing friends because of this. However, the genocidal race hate spouted out by holier than thou vegan fascists is just fine. What white folks felt for that tiny moment is what many Indians feel everyday of our lives. It doesn't take much to stir up that race hate in white folks against Indians, darky Muslims, Sephardic Jews, Sinti and Roma...It doesn't take much. But that race hate is OK. That race hate is acceptable.
I don't want genocide against the white folks, I want them to stop committing it to my fellow indigenous folks. It sure would be NICE if they stopped.

Racism and Numbers
The Makah, U.S., Russia, Chukatkas, and the IWC agreed on a quota for the Makah whaling for a five year period. The Chukatkas agreed to reduce their whaling from 140 annually to 124. 140-124=16. 16x5=80. From the 80 whales not to be hunted during that five year period, the Makah were given a quota of 20. During that five year period, the Makah only got 1 whale. 80-1=79. That means 79 whales lives were spared during that time because of the Makah.
However, the fact that 79 whales survived because of the Makah would cut into the racist behavior of alleged liberals against the Makah and their fellow indigenous folk. A good racist whale loving vegan liberal would CHOOSE to only look at the fact that the Makah killed a whale, not that 79 survived because of them. If they looked at the 79 surviving whales, that would deligitimize their racist behavior and their abilitiy to act superior to my fellow indigenous folk and thus make it more of a crime when the attacked the Head Start bus in Forks and threatened the lives of Indian children and calling them racial epithets.
When racist megalomaniacs like Paul Watson come to town, the racist folks again find legimation in their racism towards indian folks. Paul likes to legitimize his racism by saying he was at the Wounded Knee seige in '73 as a medic. However, no one remembers him. His story of having a vision where he was visited by a buffalo and interpreted by Wallace Black Elk is unsubstantiated. Not only do none of the Wounded Knee Vets remember Paul Watson, but Wallace stated he never interpreted such a vision. Paul also claims to have been given the name "Gray Wolf Clearwater" by Wallace. Wallace stated he not only did not remember giving such a name to anyone, let alone during the seige, but he would never give two names to the same person. Paul Watson is lying because it serves his racist ideals.
Paul Watson, head of the Sea Shepherd Society, an anti-whaling group, also hooked up with two conservative right wing republicans, Sen. Slade Gorton and Rep. Jack Metcalf. These two folks were known for the anti-Indian racism as well as anti-environmentalism. However, since the held their racist stance against the Makah, Paul thought it a good idea to hook up with these folks, even giving the anti-enviormentalist Slade an award for his horrific behavior. Racists allying with racists.
When Paul Watson speaks, he speaks about himself. He tells the same old stories, and Paul Watson is the hero in ALL of his stories. The man Loves Paul Watson more that he does any whale. Whales are just what brings glory to Paul Watson, and nothing more.

Hey Whitey!
With Watson coming to town, the racists are out and currently, to cowardly to show their faces or even put their names behind their racist comments.
Some of their arguments include that the Makah practiced slavery and aren't attempting to bring back that tradition.
Let's take a few things in the proper perspective here. Whitey came to this hemisphere and slaughtered millions of my indigenous folks for their own gain. In their true culture of gluttony, Whitey slaughtered the whales to near extinction. Whitey never likes to look at their own stuff because then they wouldn't be superior and self-righteous as they often are. When slaughtering every last Indian was no longer an option on the table, WHITEY decided it was a good idea to destroy our identity as a people. When we attempt to regain our identity and having to struggle against the continued genocide of our various peoples, whities from all sides want to tell us what we can and cannot do.
They bring up the issue of slavery because then they have a racist argument to throw in our face. Whitey has given themselves permission to tell us red nigger folk what traditions we can and cannot have. Whitey Loves to dominate and it doesn't matter if they're vegan or meat eater, right wing or left wing, liberal or conservative, whitey loves to lord their superiority over us while never having to answer for their crimes of genocide against our folks. ALL want to continue to tell us what we can and cannot do. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT!
Whitey is on our land ILLEGALLY! Not the folks from South of the border. Those folks for the most part are from this hemisphere, WHITEY however, is not.

Whitey is so superior, they feel they have the right to tell all folks that aren't white what they can and cannot do. Whitey feels they have the right to define and redefine all races, but I'm especially talking about Indians. You're not a speciesist, you ARE a racist.
Vegan and vegetarian whities like to lord it over red nigger meat eaters because they don't eat living creatures. My mother used to read me a book called "Stranger Than Science." One of the stories in the book described how a man hooked up a lie detector to a plant. He would think things like he was going to kill the plant, and the plant would register a reaction on the detector. It would register reactions to the mans thoughts. Plants have life. Just because you can't hear them scream when you are killing and consuming them does not mean they are void of life. Yet, vegan and vegetarian whitey allows themselves the right to say what does and doesn't have life and what life forms deserve to live and what life forms don't. ALL life forms feed on all life forms.
A point Ward Churchill brings up in EVERY speech he makes since 9-11-2001, is that while Whitey is out ALLEGEDLY doing all it can to save whales and other creatures, they say nothing about Whitey slaughtering half a million Iraqi babies with their sanctions (hundreds of thousands more since). Ward points out that Madeline Albright stated that the half a million dead darky babies was an acceptable loss. It's also a crime of genocide. And no one, NO ONE, gets in the streets screaming about those dead babies. Whitey doesn't care about those dead babies. They have dark skin. Right wing, left wing, liberal, conservative, vegan/vegetarian, meat eater, etc. No whities are hitting the streets to stop that killing. They're humans, therefore the wrong species. They're darkies, therefore the wrong color. Therefore, whitey has conveniently decided it is OK for those 500,000 Iraqi babies to die, not to mention the hundreds of thousands since.
I think it is pretty much safe to say that all the current destruction happening in the world has its basis in the folks with the white skin. Indonesia's genocide in East Timor was backed by whities. Rwandan genocide was allowed to continue because of whitey. Israel's oppression of Palestine has its basis in whitey. But, vegan/vegetarian whities have decided they are speciesist and therefore those folks deserve to die. Besides, they aren't white.
Whitey, other than their poor folks, has never suffered at the hands of horrific genocides like that of my indigenous folks. They have INDEED benefitted from it. These are crimes. One of the things I hate most
is being called "chief."
It is a designation beset upon me
by white folks
who make their own determinations
on how to treat me because of my RACE
but are too arrogant or whatever
to ask
or to just talk to me like a
human being.
And don't tell me you're honoring me
through your racist designation.
Giving me names
by visualizing racist views
of my race
is not honoring me
or any Indian for that matter.
If you really want to honor us Indians,
give everything back.
Purchasing and possessing stolen property
is a crime
afterall
and I aint gonna feel nothin' but pissed off
when you call me "chief"
and pretend it is honoring.

were backed by Japanese businessmen. It was a money-making opportunity, not some "native tradition," although they were digging up old treaty rights in order to kill. Even many Makah did not agree to the whale hunt, and found the other tribe members literally jumping on the dying whale to be disgusting and disrespectful.
Do a little more research into the Makah and the whale hunt. In the end it was innocent animals pitted against greedy business people and "natives." Government agencies were out with guns cocked against the environmentalists and animal activists. The Makah had all the power of the federal government on their side. Regardless, the Makah got to fucking kill their whale, painfully, slowly, and literally dance and jump on her dying body. Yay Makah!
I'm sick and tired of hearing about the native "respect" for animal life. If it ever existed, it does no longer. "Blessing" your Big Mac doesn't mean the animals suffered any less on factory farms. And it doesn't make the abuse you perpetuate right.
And humans are not endangered! Whales are. "Native humans" are still humans, and do all the crap that other humans do to animals. When you kill and abuse in the name of your culture, it's no better than killing and abusing in the name of your religion, or killing and abusing in the name of your species.
