A Couple of Movies

I watched the documentary, "Manufacturing Consent." It is a documentary about the thinking of Noam Chomsky and his activism. It was released, I believe, in 1992. It is still relevant today. It is a discussion of how Americans are limited in their time so when they seek information, they do so for the most part via the mainstream media. Mainstream media controls the content of the conversation within the borders of the United States. The work to disinform, misinform, etc., the American populace in order to keep them stupid so the ELITES can get away with their horrific crimes. It was great watching people try to shut down his arguments and discussions. One of them in a very republican way, shouting him down to get in the last word at the end of a debate. Winning by overwhelming use of force. Americans...*sigh* An excellent film! If you haven't seen it, find it, rent it, watch it, and know that it is not what you see in the media that is important, but what you don't see.

I also watched "Radio Bikini." It is about the two nuclear bombs set off in Bikini Atoll in 1946. First, this required the forcible removal of the people who already lived on the island (an act of genocide). The islanders had no idea what was happening. Then there was all the preparations for the alleged "test," which seems more like a show of force in my opinion. What was to follow was absolutely sick. After the first bomb was set off, the U.S. sent in their ships to survey the damage...without any forms of protection from radiation. Scientists already knew that exposure to radiation could cause cancer and many other health problems, but this was an opportunity to study the health effects on humans by exposing THEIR OWN TROOPS to radiation. A month later, a second bomb was set off underwater to study its horrific effects. Within 10 hours after detonation, U.S. ships were at ground zero and many people were exposed to HIGH LEVELS of radiation. Film footage showed geiger counters being used on the men exposed and they were peaking. Turns out, as a naval seaman stated in a 1987 interview throughout the film that none of the service men were not informed of the effects of radiation exposure, let alone what it was. This, as well as many other forced exposures of our own military to radiation suggests that the U.S. was doing "medical experiments" in seeing the effects of radiation by ILLEGALLY exposing their own mean to explore the long term healt effects. The naval seaman they were interviewing, they initially only showed from the shoulders up. Then he started talking about the swelling of his left leg and how his leg had to be removed. They panned out and you see the man sitting in a wheel chair with both his legs missing and his left hand so swollen to look like something out of a Flintstones cartoon. He talked about the swelling of his right let so much that it split from the back of his knee to his heel and had to be removed. The fucking U.S. government did this to the man without his knowledge or permission in order to PLAY with the effects of radiation...this...on their own military.
