Afghanistan, the forgotten front in the oil business

Let's not forget we're fighting one there. How many dead soldiers? How many dead Afghanis?

Funny thing about this article, which covers the poppy crops issue; I was watching Bill Maher a year or so after the U.S. illegal war in Afghanistan started. He had a former official in the Bush administration who stated something like: "The reason why Bush is allowing drugs to flow out of Afghanistan is that the money is helping in the war on terrorism." This type of memory lapse reminds me of the '95 CNN piece on the '93 bombing of the WTC. The investigators found a handful of plans for futher terrorist attacks, one of them being hijacking planes and flying them into U.S. landmarks. Feh! How soon we forget.
